Remediation

Our knowledge and experience of a wide range of available remediation methods and technologies means that we are able to advise our clients on the most appropriate method of dealing with contaminated problems, often avoiding conventional methods such as "dig and dump" and offering significant cost and programme savings.

Where we have identified contamination on a site and designed a strategy for remediation we are retained to monitor and supervise the remediation process on behalf of the client and to the satisfaction of third parties, including the Local Authority, Environment Agency, planners and funders. This monitoring, which will generally comprise site attendance, visual observation, and recovery of samples for laboratory testing, is a vital component of the audit trail.

We ensure that all of the remedial objectives presented in the Remediation Proposals Report are fulfilled and on completion of the remediation we provide a detailed Completion Report. This report is the final critical part of the development process, detailing the remediation carried out on a contaminated site, presenting all of our observations and tests and giving our clear and unequivocal opinion on the post-remediation condition of the site. This report allows our clients to demonstrate to interested third parties that, where required, remediation has been carried out in the appropriate manner.

In addition to the Completion Report we can provide a one page summary of the work carried out in the form of a Land Quality Statement. This simple and concise record of the remediation process has been found to be particularly useful by housebuilders when responding to enquiries from purchasers' solicitors.
