Recently, members of our engineering team attended The Engineering Geology of the London Clay and the Harwich Formation in the London Basin course, hosted by Geotechnical Consulting Group.

The morning session, led by Senior Consultant Jackie Skipper, explored the stratigraphical units of the London Clay, while the afternoon session saw Professor Jamie Standing of Imperial College London discuss the engineering behaviour and design implications of the different geological units.

As GEA undertakes a significant amount of work across the London Basin, keeping our knowledge up to date is essential. With the growing number of basement developments and increasingly complex urban projects, a detailed understanding of local ground conditions helps us provide practical, efficient and technically robust geotechnical advice.
