Geotechnical & Environmental Associates is pleased to have supported the planning process for an exciting new residential development in Godalming by providing a comprehensive Phase 1 Geoenvironmental Desk Study.
The scheme, led by alma-nac, will see the redevelopment of an existing brownfield site to create five new Passivhaus homes, together with a two-storey roof extension to a former office building. The project highlights the potential to unlock sustainable residential developments from underutilised commercial sites.
A comprehensive Phase 1 Desk Study forms the foundation of many successful developments. By reviewing the site’s history, geology, environmental setting and potential ground-related constraints, it helps identify potential risks at an early stage, informs planning decisions and determines whether further ground investigation is required.
