We are looking for a geotechnical engineer with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering geology, geotechnical engineering, applied geology, or civil engineering with a geotechnical content, with between one year and five years of experience. We would also welcome candidates with less than one year of experience if they have relevant placement experience.
You will join our busy team in our main Hertfordshire office. The role will involve site supervision of ground investigations, along with report writing and geotechnical analysis, together with scoping and pricing new work and liaison with clients. You will join our graduate training programme, depending on level of experience, and will benefit from mentoring and structured seminar training and will also have the opportunity to join our Chartership programme. Regular CPD sessions are also provided, and we welcome attendance at external events.
We carry out ground investigations and geotechnical assessments, as well as having a strong contaminated land capability. We provide interpretive reports for every project, so we are looking for engineers who are comfortable being on site and organising crews, as well as spending time in the office writing reports and carrying out foundation designs and ground movement analyses. You will have responsibility for your own projects early on in your career, alongside the guidance of more senior engineers. Experience of geotechnical assessments and numerical modelling would be useful but not essential, as training and direction will be provided.
We value creative thinking, self-motivation and a desire to learn; imagination and curiosity are essential, as is an ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. Our core values are safety, enthusiasm, kindness, integrity, people, innovation, sustainability and community and we encourage candidates with a positive attitude who are eager to contribute to a collaborative team environment. We welcome individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who share our commitment to delivering high-quality work, supporting one another, and making a meaningful impact on the projects and communities we serve.
We offer a competitive salary, funded memberships to professional bodies, wellbeing support, workplace pension, free gym membership, weekly free fruit, lunch during periodic company meetings, regular social events and a relaxed and friendly working environment.
