Join our Team

We are always pleased to welcome new people who share our enthusiasm and values. Our Environment

We are a friendly team of engineers and administrative staff, with our main office in a lovely converted Grade II listed barn in a rural location next to a nature reserve in the Hertfordshire countryside. We also have satellite offices in the Nottinghamshire countryside and in Manchester city centre. We hold regular quarterly office meetings with our Notts and Manchester offices where we meet for lunch and share best practice ideas. We also hold regular social events.

We embrace the collective experiences, varied skills, and unique talents of every member of staff. We encourage development and reward performance. Above all else, we provide an environment in which our staff can thrive.

Wellbeing

We are committed to building a safe, happy and healthy working environment, employees have access to our employee assistance programme (EAP) which covers a wide range of support services. We also offer free gym/yoga/exercise membership, a fresh fruit basket is delivered weekly to the office for the staff and we support the Cycle to Work scheme.

Professional Development

We encourage learning and development to build on an individual’s skills and strengths. This includes regular seminars from professionals within the industry, training courses and mentoring to chartered status. We fund all professional memberships and society events.

All of our staff are provided with high quality training, through internal appraisals and reviews, lunchtime workshops and presentations from our own staff and external companies, and attendance at training courses and seminars. We are also often asked to present seminars on issues of interest to our clients.

Student Placements

We have close ties with the University of Portsmouth Engineering Geology & Geotechnics Bachelor of Engineering degree and were one of the founding industry partners for their very successful bursary scheme. We have a placement student with us for some 44 weeks at the end of their second year of study, as well as an 8-week period at the end of their first year. Steve Branch is a member of the Bursary Management Committee.
