A recent presentation by Price & Myers on the transformation of the former Bradford Odeon into the new Bradford Live venue gave members of the GEA team the opportunity to reflect on our involvement in the early stages of this landmark regeneration project.

GEA’s involvement began in 2017, when we provided geotechnical advice to support the design of an external protective scaffold. This was followed in 2018 by a programme of ground investigation works, including external boreholes and internal trial pits, to help inform the project’s design and development.

Working within a historic building brought its own challenges. Restricted access, the complexity of the existing structure and the unique environment required careful planning and execution by our engineering team. Despite these challenges, it was a privilege to play a role in a project that would ultimately breathe new life into one of Bradford’s most iconic buildings.

Having worked with Price & Myers on numerous projects over the years, it was a pleasure to support them once again as part of the wider project team.

Now that Bradford Live has opened its doors, it is fantastic to see the completed transformation and the positive impact the venue is already having on the city. Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this ambitious vision to life.

At GEA, we are proud to support projects from the earliest stages by providing practical geotechnical advice and ground investigation services that help lay the foundations for successful developments.
