Our consultancy service covers all aspects of the development process, including foundation design and analysis, particularly soil-structure interaction problems, slope stability, earthworks control, and solving problems associated with contamination, such as smoothing the planning process, liaising with the Environment Agency (EA) and Environmental Health Officer (EHO), remediation design and so on.

On contaminated sites our consultancy service forms a vital part of the remediation process. We will discuss the information obtained from the ground investigation with interested parties including the Local Authority, Environment Agency and National House-Building Council with a view to agreeing a strategy for safe, cost-effective and commercially coherent development of the site. This strategy will form the basis of a separate report detailing remediation proposals for agreement with the Local Authority and Environment Agency, and NHBC where appropriate. We will then brief and select any specialist remediation contractors that are required to execute the remediation proposals and provide a site induction service to ground workers and other construction workers.

We are increasingly asked by our clients to provide a technical review and site characterisation service where work has previously been carried out on a site by others. Our ability to rapidly identify the critical issues associated with a proposed development and to recommend realistic and properly costed solutions allows our clients to quickly make decisions on site acquisitions and development viability.

Our consultancy service is often part of an ongoing process that commences with the site investigation and reflects the increasingly detailed design information that becomes available as a project develops. Thus, as part of our consultancy role we may carry out further or more specialised investigations to further assess particular issues, such as slope stability, foundation movements or contamination hotspots.
